Peggy Gaddy Jenkins

Peggy Marie Gaddy Jenkins, 79, of NC 24/27 Biscoe, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at her residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, August 11, 2012 at First Baptist Church, Biscoe, where she was a member, with Rev. Larry Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in the Biscoe Cemetery. She was born, October 13, 1932 in Montgomery County, to Minnie Pearl Poole and Chesley Robert Gaddy. She retired from Springs Industries with more than 30 years of service. She was an accomplished seamstress, loved the water, skiing well into her 60’s, travelling, gardening and birdwatching. She enjoyed teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband William Theodore Davis, second husband Lee VanDerveer, sister Josephine Olshefski and brother Larry Gaddy. Mrs. Jenkins is survived by her husband, Robert, sons, William Theodore Davis, Jr. and wife Karen of Apex, Donald Ray Davis and wife Donna of Navarre Beach, FL and Timothy E. Davis and wife Cathy of Jackson Springs; brothers, Richard Legrand Gaddy and wife Dot of Tacoma Park, MD and Harold Gaddy and wife Kay of Summerville, SC; 11 grandchildren, Nicki, Mark, Chris, Cassie, Pete, Kami, Kasey, Cameron, Hollie, Chad and Hannah; 4 great-grandchildren and her extended family. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor. Memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church, Biscoe, PO Box 36, Biscoe NC 27209.
