Pauline Sexton Lomax

Pauline (Polly) Sexton Lomax, age 91 of Denton passed away on Monday, October 27 at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. Funeral service will be held at 3:30 pm Thursday, October 30 at Central United Methodist Church with Rev. Benny Clodfelter and Rev. Dr. Thomas Griffis officiating. Burial will follow in the Denton Town Cemetery. Mrs. Lomax was born September 19, 1917 in Davidson County to the late Pegram and Adaline Davis Sexton. Polly was a wonderful homemaker and cook, filling the table with many delicious meals. All of her life was spent in Denton, except for three years she lived in Connecticut with Adalyn and Esko following Blanton’s death. She was a member of Central United Methodist Church most of her life, where she was involved in various activities including the United Methodist Women Circles. She was also a past member of the Denton Women’s Club. She was preceded in death by her husband Blanton Lomax on May 4, 1995 and by her only son, Brad Lomax in 1970. Mrs. Lomax is survived by her daughter, Adalyn Nopanen and son-in-law Esko of Denton, granddaughter, Crissie Cabrera of Durham, grandson, Aron Nopanen and his wife Sheila of New Zealand and five great-grandchildren, Carey, Jessa, Joey, Jakob and Cylie Cabrera of Durham. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Wednesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Glenn Street. The family would like to give special thanks to Polly’s Mountain Vista “family” for the tender loving care given to her.
