Mrs. Pauline Cassie Clodlfelter Dennis, age 98 a resident of Aldersgate United Methodist Retirement Center in Charlotte and a former resident of Salisbury died Saturday, April 2 at the Retirement Center. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 5 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton Conducted by Rev. Bobby Tyson. Burial will follow at Clear Springs United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 9:30 to 10:50 AM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home. Pauline Dennis was born to Alexander C. and Mattie Moore Clodfelter on April 1, 1913 in Thomasville. She was a resident of Aldersgate United Methodist Retirement Center in Charlotte for twenty-one (21) years. In her earlier years she lived in Troy, NC where she was employed by Smitherman Cotton Mills and was an active member of the Troy Presbyterian Church. At the time of her death she was a member of Clear Springs United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dennis was married to Ronzo H. Dennis who preceded her in death in 1988. They loved flowers and won many ribbons and prizes at rose shows and at the North Carolina State Fair. Also preceding her in death was a daughter, Patsy Craddock and a son, Phillip Donald Dennis, two sisters, Ruth Nye and Ruby Barrett, one brother Eugene Clodfelter. She is survived by her son, Rev. Bobby Joe Dennis and wife Sue of Lake Tillery, NC, and their two children Beth Dennis Birks and husband John of Oklahoma City, Ok, Keith Dennis and wife Sheri of Elizabeth City, a daughter-in-law,, Mrs Linda Dennis of Gilbert, Arizona, and her two sons, Phillip Dennis and wife Victoria of Dallas, Texas, Joel Dennis and wife Suzanne of Gilbert, Arizona. Other grandchildren are Susan Craddock Smith and husband Van of Greensboro, Mitzi Craddock Whelchel and husband Chris of Charlotte, a brother James Clodfelter and wife Pauline of Asheville and eleven great-grandchildren.
