Mr. Paul Cagle, age 91 of Volunteer Rescue Road, Denton, NC died Tuesday, December 15 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, December 18 at Gravel Hill Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Kenneth Reaves and Rev. Gerald Ward. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home and other times will be at the residence. Mr. Cagle was born November 1, 1924 in Randolph County to William Reid Cagle and Betty Cranford Cagle. He was a retired employee of Bossong Hosiery Mills. He was a member of Gravel Hill Baptist Church where he served as Choir director for many years. His life was dedicated to music. He had studied music at Randolph Community College and had sung in several quartets including the Redeemed Quartet. He was married to Willia Dean Snider Cagle who died November 11, 2012. He was also preceded in death by a son, Nathan Cagle, by a brother John Cagle and by sisters Nora Smith and Polly Boyles. He is survived by daughters, Geraldean Varner and Joyce McDowell both of Asheboro; a daughter-in-law, Bonnie Cagle of Ramseur; brothers Dyle Cagle and wife Martha and Glen Cagle all of Denton; grandchildren, Vickie Massingale, Dale Cagle, Darrell Cagle, Dennis Varner, Shelia Lynch, Greg Varner and Sherry Johnson; 13 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren.
