Opal Maxine Dorsett Alexander age 87, of Farmer Rd., Denton died Thursday, March 17, 2016 at her residence. A funeral will be held 2:00 pm Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Charles Garner. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Alexander was born January 31, 1929 in Davidson County to Frank Dorsett and Lillian Poole Dorsett. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jack R. Alexander. Surviving are daughter, Jean Alexander of Denton; “heart daughter” Janet Elliott of High Point; grandson, Daniel Tate (Alison) of Denton; brother, Vernon Dorsett of Denton; sister, Lucille Briles of Asheboro. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home on Farmer Rd.
