Novelle Bean

Mrs. Novelle Carrick Bean, age 92 of Shoreline Drive, Lexington, NC died Tuesday, Dec. 1 at Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, Dec. 4 at Holloways Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Craig Barnhill and Rev. Roy Queen. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Bean was born January 26, 1917 in Davidson County to James Marvin Carrick and Essie Cross Carrick. She was a graduate of Southmont High School, a homemaker and a member of Antioch Baptist Church. She was married to William Lester Bean who died April 26, 1995. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Carrick and sisters Leora Davis and Eunice Varner. She is survived by a son Steven P. Bean of Lexington, by brothers, Dallas Carrick and wife Jane, Melvin Carrick and wife Barbara and Ronald Carrick and wife Jane, all of Lexington; and by grandchildren Jeremy D. Bean of Lexington and Shane D. Bean and wife Karen, of Charlotte and a great grandchild Gabrielle Bean. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence on Shoreline Drive. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Hospice of Davidson County, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 27292. The family would like to give a special Thanks to the staff of the Palliative Care and ICU units of Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center.
