Nettie Meacham Shelton

Nettie Meacham Shelton, 96, formerly of West End, died Tuesday at Hospice of Pinehurst. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Friday, March 22, 2013 at First Baptist Church of West End, with Rev. Robbie Gibson and Rev. Dana Brewer officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant UMC Cemetery, Ellerbe. A native of Richmond County, Mrs. Shelton was born November 26, 1916, the daughter of Benjamin Foster and Minnie Winfrey Reynolds Meacham. She was a homemaker and preceded in death by her husband, Morris E. Shelton in 1984 and a daughter Sandra Shelton. She is survived by 2 daughters, Gloria Almond of Nashville, TN and Carolyn Harris of Southern Pines; 3 Grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7:30 PM Thursday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
