Mrs. Nell Fox Beaman of Troy, North Carolina, age 88, passed peacefully Wednesday, May 19, 2010. A worship service celebrating her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 21, in the sanctuary of Trinity United Methodist Church, 239 North Russell Street, Troy, North Carolina. Burial will follow in Southside Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 am, prior to the service, at the church. Nell Beaman was a native of Candor and a long time resident of Troy. She attended school in Candor and upon graduation attended Atlantic Christian in Wilson, North Carolina. She returned to Troy after graduation and worked for the Montgomery County Agricultural Administration. It was at this time that she met soul mate, David S. Beaman from Troy. They were married, October 25, 1942 in Atlanta, Georgia by David’s brother, Dr. Charles G. Beaman. Shortly, after their marriage, he was drafted into the Army during World War II. Nell followed him from New York to Kentucky as he trained to take his post overseas. Upon his return, they settled in Troy to start a family. For over 50 years, she was the Sunday school teacher for the nursery at Trinity United Methodist Church. She was the beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to all those that new her. She was predeceased by her husband, David S. Beaman. She is survived by daughters, Linda Reidy and husband John Reidy of Kernersville, North Carolina and Cathy Brusack and husband John Brusack of Alpharetta, Georgia; grandchildren, Amber Watson and husband Kevin Watson, Ryan B. Araujo and husband, Thiago Araujo, Anna B. Myrick and husband, Chip Myrick, Kate Brusack and John Paul Brusack; great-grandchildren, Zoe, Quinnlan and Keeley Watson; sister-in-laws, Alda Stokes of Wilmington, North Carolina, Colleen Fox of Hampton, Virginia and Jewel Beaman of Troy, North Carolina.
