Neill Alton Lamonds

Neill Alton Lamonds, 93, of Candor, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Mr. Lamonds was born October 7, 1921 in Montgomery County, a son of the late Neill Archibald and Barbara Ellen Britt Lamonds. He was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church and had retired from C & O Railroad. During World War II, he served in the Philippines in the US Army. He was preceded in death by his daughter Debra Lamonds. Surviving are his children, Neill Lamonds, Jr. of Fresno, CA and Donna Martin of Candor; 3 grandchildren, Steve Jones, Tonya Jones and Randy Daniel and 6 great grandchildren, Jennifer Jones, Caleb Jones, Jacob Jones, Debra Jones, Foster Daniel, Kelsi Daniel and a great great grandchild, Ethan Byrd. Graveside service will be held at 4 pm Friday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Candor.
