Neal Junior McSwain

Neal Junior McSwain, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and cherished patriarch of his family, passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of those whose lives he touched.

Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM Friday, September 11, 2026 at Derby Baptist Church, with Rev. Todd Carpenter and Rev. Bucky Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Springs Cemetery with military honors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Thursday at Derby Baptist Church.

Junior was a man who loved his family deeply and whose presence was a constant source of love, strength, wisdom, and comfort. He was a devoted husband and a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He leaves behind two children, seven grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren, all of whom carry a piece of his love and legacy with them.

He was also a beloved uncle and a patriarch to his extended family, including his many siblings, nieces, nephews, and generations of family who looked to him with love and respect. His family was, without question, one of the greatest accomplishments and joys of his life.

Junior proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1958 to 1962, serving as a Military Police Specialist. During his military career, he was assigned to the Executive Flight Detachment supporting President Dwight D. Eisenhower. His honorable service in the White House was formally recognized with an official White House Service Certificate, awarded in 1961.

Beyond the uniform and accomplishments of his military service, Junior will be remembered most for the man he was to the people who loved him: a husband, a daddy, a Papa, Pop, an uncle, a brother, and the steady patriarch of a large and loving family.

His legacy will live on through the many lives he helped shape, the stories that will continue to be told, and the generations of his family who will forever carry his love with them.

He will be deeply missed and forever loved.
