Nannie Sue Smith

Nannie Sue Bowman Smith, 91, of Pecan Ridge Lane, Candor, died Friday, September 9, 2016 at her residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Middlecross Baptist Church, with Rev. David Reynolds and Rev. Mike Holyfield officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery. She was born August 20, 1925 in Stokes County, the daughter of Posey and Susan Louella Bullins Bowman. She was a seamstress. She is survived by her husband of over 71 years, Alvin Alexander Smith of the home; son, Alvin Smith, Jr. of Candor; 4 daughters, Dottie Mullinix of Mt. Gilead, Ginny Sessoms of Jackson Springs, Vickie Callicutt of Seagrove and Donna Sue Blake of Rockingham; sister, Mary Campbell of Candor; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 PM Saturday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
