Nancy Smith Mcswain

Nancy Smith McSwain, McQueen Rd., Ellerbe, died Thursday, January 16, 2025 at the home of her grandson and his wife,  whom she was under the incredible care of.

Funeral Service will be 1:00 PM Monday, January 20, 2025, at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Bucky Hendrix and Rev. Charles Leviner.  Burial will follow in the Jones Springs Cemetery.

Born in Montgomery County on October 28, 1945, she was the daughter of Bunyon and Margaret Hunt Smith.  She was an echocardiology technician, having worked at Moore Regional Hospital and Pinehurst Medical Clinic, having worked for more than 30 years before retiring.  She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, spending many days teaching proper biscuit making, walking the NC Zoo and the Rankin Museum, or her favorite pastime, clearance rack shopping.

She is survived by her husband of 61 years as of January 4, Neal J. McSwain of the home; daughter, Donna McSwain Hughes (Larry) of Pinehurst; son, Jeffery Dale McSwain (Kathy) of West End; 7 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 PM Sunday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
