Nancy Hedrick Garner

Nancy Louise Hedrick Garner, 87, of Denton, North Carolina, passed away on October 28, 2026, at Mountain Vista Health Park.

Nancy was born on November 14, 1938, in Davidson County to Archie Phillip Hedrick, Sr., and Leona Parrish Hedrick. Throughout her life, Nancy found joy in crafting, collecting various items, and spending time doing the things she loved. She was a faithful servant of the Lord who enjoyed teaching Sunday School and participating in many church activities. Her love for her church and her dedication to serving others were important parts of her life. She was a Denton High School, Class of 1957 graduate and attended Ashemore Business School.

Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years, Sidney Alford Garner; and her brother, Terry Hedrick.

Those left to cherish her memory include her son, Zane Garner (Monica); granddaughters, Hannah Cantu (David) and Haley O’Neal (Carter); great-grandchildren, Noah, Lucas, Isaiah, and Maisyn; her brother, Archie Hedrick, Jr.; sister-in-law, Marlene Hedrick; and aunt, Christine Arnold. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and all who knew her.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, Nov. 2, at Mountain View Memorial Gardens with Rev. Thomas Frizzell officiating. The family will receive friends at Briggs Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made in Nancy’s honor to Mountain Vista Health Park or Alderwood of Davidson County.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Mountain Vista Health Park for the excellent care, kindness, and compassion shown to Nancy during the many years she was a resident there. Their dedication and support will always be appreciated.

Nancy’s memory will live on through the family she loved, the faith she shared, and the many lives she touched throughout her life.
