Miss Verlie Katherine Lax

Miss Verlie Katherine Lax, age 85 of Asheboro died Wednesday, May 16 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. A graveside service will be 11:00 am Friday, May 18 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery with Rev. Chris Smith officiating. Miss Lax was born August 17, 1921 in Davidson County to George Ulysses and Drilda Bryant Lax. She was a graduate of Denton School and was a homemaker. She was preceded in death by sisters, Blanche Crotts and Myrle Walker and her husband Tommy and brothers, Henry Lax and wife Lizzie and Clifford Lax and wife Helen. Mrs. Lax is survived by a sister, Mrs. Ava Morgan and her husband Jasper of Lexington and numerous nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to donor’s choice.
