Melvin Smith

Mr. Melvin Frank Smith age 65, of E. Salisbury St. Denton died Sunday, December 14, 2014 at Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast. Memorial services will be held 4:00 PM Friday at First Presbyterian Church in Thomasville. Mr. Smith was born June 6, 1949 in Broome County, New York to Walter Smith and Eleanor Button Smith. He was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Thomasville and worked as a machinist. In addition to his parents Melvin was preceded in death by a brother, Earl Smith; sisters, Mae Smith, Myrtle Woodrow, and Jean Keesler. Surviving is his wife, Arlowene Goutermout Smith of the home; sons, Barney Fuller (Michelle) of NC and Leonard Sugars of South Dakota; daughters, Catherine Mills (Buck) of PA, Dora Horne (Eric) of NC, and Heather Kluttmen (Nate) of NC; brothers, Kenneth Smith (Bonnie) of NC and Michael Smith (June) of NY; sister, Mary Starks of NY; 28 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
