Melvin Smith

Mr. Melvin Ray Smith, age 72 of Brantley Gordon Road, Denton, NC died Saturday, June 30 at Randolph Hospital in Asheboro. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Monday, July 2 at Old Fashion Baptist Church on Richey Road conducted by Rev. Hoyle Harrison. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will see friends from 2:00 until 3:00 PM Monday at Old Fashion Baptist Church.and other times will be at the residence. Mr. Smith was born June 18, 1940 in Greene County to Clarence Melvin Smith and Emma Radford Smith. He was a retired automobile mechanic. He is survived by his wife Thelma Sauls Smith of the home; son Timothy Elliott Smith of Denton; daughters Susie Malcom and husband Kenneth and Connie Sue Smith all of Denton, and Emma Dawn Ferree of Thomasville; grandchildren, Crystal Davidson and husband Glenn, Kevin Smith, Eric Smith, Tiffany Ferree and Derrick Ferree; great grandchild Catlin Davidson.
