Mattie Yates

Mrs. Mattie Elbertson Yates, age 78, of Gordontown Road, Lexington, NC died Monday, December 17, 2018 at Forsyth Medical Center.

A funeral will be held on Friday, December 21 ^st at 2:00 p.m. at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Claudie Harrison. Burial will follow at Pierce’s Chapel Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.

Mrs. Yates was born September 2, 1940 in Randolph County to Tillett Elbertson and Lena Briles Elbertson. She had worked as a CNA at Thomasville Medical Center.

She is survived by her husband Glenn Allen Yates of the home; a son, Deffie Yates and wife Tammy of Lexington; grandchildren, Shana Elbertson and husband David, Elaina Boyd and Alex Garner, Tyler Yates and wife Emily; 9 great grandchildren.
