Mary Frances Glover McPherson Trogdon, 73, of Mill Rd., Jackson Springs, died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Friday, April 18, 2014 at Pleasant Hill UMC with Rev. Dana Brewer officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Trogdon was born in Moore County on October 19, 1940, the daughter of Jake and Bessie Mills Glover. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by two sons, Kenneth and Gary Thompson and a brother, Charlie Glover. She is survived by her husband, Arthur Trogdon of the home; 3 sons, John Wayne Thompson of High Falls, Danny Ray Thompson of Jackson Springs, and Randy Thompson and wife Susan of Jackson Springs; 2 daughters, Connie Thompson of Jackson Springs and Faye Lane of Star; 2 sisters, Zora Ann Jenkins and husband Wilbert and Margaret Johnson and husband Richard, all of Jackson Springs; a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence on Mill Rd. Her family will miss her greatly, and Mary loved them and her friends dearly and cherished life to the fullest. The family wishes to thank everyone for their prayers and acts of kindness during her years battling cancer. She was a champion through it all and never asked “Why me, Lord”, but continued living each day to the fullest. Now it’s her turn to rest with The Lord and all your loved ones who are waiting for you in Heaven… .
