Mary Frances Sherman

Mary Frances Mikkelson Sherman, 74, of School Street, Candor, died Saturday, February 14, 2026 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. Memorial Services will be held at a later date.

Born in Phillipsburg NJ on December 16, 1951, she was the daughter of Robert and Dorothy Mikkelson. She was a caregiver for many years. She was preceded in death by her father, Robert Mikkelson and her mother and stepfather, Dorothy and Bill Cooper; sister, Joan Penzar and a brother, Robert Mikkelson. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and sister-in-law.

Mary is survived by her son, Clinton Franklin Sherman of Candor; daughters, Cynthia Lorraine Williams and Melissa Lynn Sherman, both of Candor and Cynthia Thomas; brother, Charles Penzar of Blairstown NJ; 2 sisters, Diane Howey of Princeton IN and Lorraine Freeborn of Allamuchy NJ; sister-in-law, Vaunita Weinacht of TN; grandchildren, Morgan Williams and Sasha Thomas; great-grandchild, Ezra Thomas-Long; numerous nieces and nephews
