Mary Elizabeth “Lib” Greene Sexton, 90, of NC Hwy 47 East, Denton, died Friday, December 6, 2024 in Davidson County.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 12, 2024 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel, with Rev. Scott Davis officiating. Burial will follow in Mountain View Memorial Gardens.
The family will receive friends from 1-1:45 PM prior to the service at Briggs Funeral Home on Thursday.
Mrs. Sexton was a native of Richmond County, born on February 12, 1934 to the late Dave and Ellen Greene. She attended Mt Zion Wesleyan Church, Thomasville. She was a proud retiree of the Town of Denton where she dedicated her service and made life long friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She took great pride in her family and was the heart and soul of every gathering. Her family and friends were her greatest joy and she was always there with open arms and a heart of gold. Most importantly, she lived her life for the glory of God.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband William (Bill) Sexton, her best friend for 45 years, grandson Jeremy Bullins, stepsons Jimmy Sexton (Denise) and Joel Sexton, five brothers and four sisters.
Lib is survived by her sons Douglas Bullins (Mary) of Asheboro, and Michael Bullins (Janice) of Seagrove; grandchildren Heather Bullins, Joshua Bullins, and Micah Wilson (Heath); step grandchildren Brian Sexton (Michelle), Crystal Sexton and Allison Sexton; great grandchildren Jon Bullins (Katie), Dane Bullins, Gavin Bullins, Rylee Wilson and Brantley Wilson; step great grandchildren Bella Sexton and Thomas Sexton; brothers Gurnie Greene and Eddie Greene.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Davidson County and family and friends for the love and kindness shown during this difficult time.
