Mary Ruth Moody

November 14, 1919 — January 15, 2018

        Mrs. Mary Ruth Fulk Moody, age 98 formerly of Robbins St., Lexington, NC died Monday, January 15 at Randolph Hospice House in Asheboro.   A funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, January 20 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Elder Carlton Brown and Elder Lowell Hopkins. Burial will follow at Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery.   The family will see friends Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 at Briggs Funeral Home prior to the funeral service.   Mrs. Moody was born November 14, 1919 in Surry County to Sidney Henderson Fulk and Ella Frances Barnes Fulk.. She ws a member of Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church and had worked as a teachers assistant at Denton Elementary School. She retired as a Librarian assistant at Pilot School. She had also worked at Mallory Battery Company. She was in the Ladies Auxiliary and worked with the Amvets and American Legion.  Her favorite pastime was working in the garden. She was married to Elder James Hubert Moody who died June 28, 2015. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Ada Hill and Cora Beasley and by brothers Herbert, David, George Claude and Gray. She was an avid Bible reader and enjoyed visiting Nursing Homes and working with her flowers. She also loved talking to her friends at home and in the mountains.     She is survived by sons, Robert Gray Moody and wife Terry Lynn of Keller, Texas and David Henderson Moody and wife Belinda of Lexington; daughter, Linda Albright and husband Charles of Badin Lake, New London; grandchildren, Kevin, Wendi, Kailey and husband Zak, Joshua, Jamie, Jason and wife April; great grandchildren, Christian, Alisha, Ashton and Hailey.   Memorials may be made to Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery Fund c/o Kent Snider, 712 Sexton Road, Denton, NC 27239.   The family would like to thank Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton for all the love and care they gave Mrs. Moody, and also Stanly Manor in Albemarle for the years of care they gave her.   Online condolences may be made at www.briggsfuneralhome.com
