Mary Loraine Isom Lamb, 68, of Denton died Thursday December 6 at her residence. Born January 10, 1939 to Fred and Erma Isom of Seagrove, our beloved mother went home to be with Jesus after a courageous battle with leukemia for four months. She always had a smile on her face and laughed a lot until the very last day. Funeral service will be held Sunday at 1:30 PM at the Original Church of God on Kepley Road off of Hwy 64 Lexington with Pastor Pat Eller officiating. Burial will be at the church cemetery. She was married to Billy B. Lamb on June 11, 1955 who survives, of the home. Mrs Lamb was also survived by daughters Sue Williams and husband Johnny of High Point, Velvet Lamb of Thomasville, and Verta Wilson of the home; sons David Lamb of Thomasville, and Sam Lamb of Denton; 12 Grandchildren and 22 Great Grandchildren; sisters Marie Kidd of Grays Chapel and Patricia Allen of Asheboro; brothers Fred Junior Isom and J.W. Isom, both of Asheboro. She was a member of The Original Church of God on Kepley Road off of Hwy 64. She was retired from Pickett Cotton Mill in High Point. Visitation will be Saturday from 6:00 to 8:00 At Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. The family will also receive friends at the home at 310 A.R. Morris Road or at Sam’s Place at 43 South Main Street in Denton. The family wants to give a special thanks to Hospice of Davidson County and to Dr. Sanders for taking good care of our mother.
