Mary Hilliard

Mrs. Mary Varner Hilliard, age 97 of Spring Street, Denton, NC died Thursday, January 22 at Carolinas Medical Center NE in Concord. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, January 25 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Randy Lucas. Burial will follow at Lineberry United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Hilliard was born November 6, 1911 in Davidson County to Noah Pres Varner and Nancy Priscilla Elliott Varner. She was a homemaker and seamstress and had worked at Thornton Knitting Company. She was married to Shellie Albert Hilliard who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by brothers, Matthew McKinley Varner and James Charles Varner and by sisters, Mittie Lou Varner Kinney and Joyce Alice Varner. Mrs. Hilliard is survived by several Nieces and Nephews. The family will see friends from 2:00 to 3:00 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
