Mary Jane Blue Harris, 88, of N.C. 73 East, died Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007, at Pinelake Health and Rehab in Carthage. Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday at Marcus United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Rev. Don Burns officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. She was a native of Montgomery County, the widow of Roy Thomas Harris, a retired employee of Moore Regional Hospital and a former employee of the Montgomery County Department of Social Services Department of Transportation. Surviving are daughters, Carolyn Hakola of Sanford, Kay Oneill of Charleston, S.C.; sons, Maurice Harris of Southern Pines, Johnnie Harris of Asheboro, Robert Harris of Rockingham, Ricky Harris of West End, Pat Harris of Jackson Springs; sisters, Edith Fraizer of Hendersonville, Willie Mae Blackwell of Charlotte, Lillie Schopieray of Mount Morris, Mich.; brother, Leroy Blue of Hendersonville; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren. The family will be at Briggs Candor Funeral Home, Candor, 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the donor’s choice.
