Mary Shepard Goins

Mary Louise Shepard Goins, 90, of Sexton Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at Atrium Health Lexington.

A memorial service will be held 1:00 PM, Saturday, July 8 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Travis Yates. The family will receive friends from noon until 1:00 PM on Saturday.

Mary was born on April 20, 1933, in Richmond County to John Shepard and Villa Blake Shepard. She was of the Baptist faith and had worked for Burlington Industries. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Grover Edward Goins, a daughter, Mary Ann Goins Simmons; and all her siblings.

She is survived by daughter, Sybil Goins Redmon of Denton; son, Bruce Scott Goins and wife Rhonda of Lexington; 7 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
