Denton, NC-Martha Trotter Swaney Mrs. Martha Trotter Swaney, age 84 of Bescher Chapel Road, Denton died Wednesday, November 21 while on vacation with her family in Dare County, NC. Funeral service for Mrs. Swaney will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 25 at Pleasant Union Community Church in Denton with Pastor Danny Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Swaney was born September 16, 1923 in Randolph County to Roby and Nellie Tysinger Trotter. She was a homemaker and attended Pleasant Union Community Church. Mrs. Swaney was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Curtis Swaney on February 21, 2005 and by a brother, George Trotter. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Swaney Miller of Fuquay-Varina and Judy Swaney Ray of Robbins, three sisters, Grace Smith, Ida Kearns and Eunice McElreath, all of Denton, three grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton.
