Martha Sue Hunt Luther

Martha Sue Hunt Luther, 77, of Hwy 109 South, Denton, died Saturday, April 12, 2014 at her residence. Funeral Service will be 3:00 PM Tuesday, April 15, 2015 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, with Rev. Chris Smith, Rev. Derald Smith and Chaplain David Kolb officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Luther was born in Davidson County on July 27, 1936, the daughter of John Blair and Anna Lee Kearns Hunt. She was an excellent seamstress, a graduate of Farmer High School and she retired from Lowe’s Home Improvement. She was preceded in death by a brother, Sidney Hunt and a sister, JoAnn Keith. She is survived by her husband, James Rex Luther of the home; a son, James Byron Luther of the home; 3 daughters, Jene’ Luther of Denton, Jilda Bennett (David) of Asheboro and Delana Freeman (Randy) of Farmer; brother, Darrell Hunt (Jane) of Asheboro; 8 Grandchildren, Ben Stevenson, Andy Biles, Jennifer Owen, Brandon Wilson, Cloie Thomas, Elizabeth Vigil, Casey Dyles and Trevor Wilson; 11 Great-grandchildren.  The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
