Martha Johnson

Mrs. Martha Lou Smith Johnson, age 93 of Johnson Farm Road, Denton, NC died Friday, August 17 at Lexington Health Care. A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, August 21 at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Chris Smith with burial to follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Johnson was born May 13, 1914 in Davidson County to Howard Pegram Smith and Etta Louise Fine Smith. She was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and was a homemaker and poultry farmer, selling and delivering eggs to the Thomasville area for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Worth Johnson on May 4, 1974. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Grady Smith, Sigmon Smith, Reo Smith and Zollie Smith. Mrs. Johnson is survived by a daughter Ruby Loflin and husband Brown Loflin, by two sons, Charles Johnson and wife Nancy Johnson and Howard Pinkey Johnson all of Denton. She is also survived by grandchildren, Jill Storey and husband Stephen, Keith Loflin and wife Kim, Scott Johnson and wife Sherry, Donna Jordan and husband Mike and Karen Miller and husband Tim. Great Grandchildren, Landry Miller, Laramie Miller, Ridge Storey, Lleyton Storey and Karsten Loflin. The family will see friends from 6:30 to 8:30 Monday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of Brown & Ruby Loflin, 1366 Jim Elliott Road, Denton.
