Marlene Loflin Efird of Denton died Wednesday, Nov. 2 at Carolinas Medical Center Northeast. A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, Nov. 5 at Alleghany United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Derald Smith. The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 to 8 PM at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of her sister Carlene on 473 Uwharrie Parkway, New London. Ms. Efird was born in Davidson County to Bradley Loflin and Virginia Fine Loflin. She was a homemaker, a member of Chandlers Grove United Methodist Church, and was preceded in death by brothers Clarence Loflin and Wes Loflin. Survivors include, son; Dan Efird of Denton, daughter; Anita Hobbs of Rockwell, brothers; Joe Loflin of Denton, Bill Loflin of Asheboro, and Robert Loflin of New London, sisters; Dorothy Hill of Denton, Vangie Chrisco of Locust and twin sister Carlene Varner of Denton, and 5 grandchildren.
