Mr. Mark Anthony Covil age 57, of N. Nance Rd., Denton died Saturday, May 7, 2016. A memorial service will be held 7:00 pm Thursday at High Rock Cowboy Church by Rev. Tom Campbell and another at 2:00 pm on Sunday at First United Methodist Church by Rev. Tammy Talbert. Mr. Covil was born July 15, 1958 in Guilford County to Roy Elbert Covil and Jessie Ann Doss Fulk. He attended Canaan United Methodist Church and High Rock Cowboy Church. Mark had a tremendous love for cars, family and a spiritual man. He had worked at J & J Auto Racing Inc. on Ricky Craven’s Busch Grand National Series team and Econo Auto Painting Inc. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #404, Order of the Eastern Star Denton Chapter, and Member of Scottish Rite and York Rite. He was preceded in death by a son, Christopher Shane Covil. Surviving are wife, Judith Perkins Covil of the home; sons, Michael Allen Covil (Layne) and Matthew James Covil (Rachel) all of Greensboro; stepsons, Michael Allen Morgan (Nikki) of Denton and Mark Lee Morgan (Julie) of Colfax; stepdaughter, Poppy Michelle Watkins of Denton; sisters, Marsha Lawrence (John) of Oak Ridge, Donna Coltrane (Barry) of Browns Summitt, Jackie Hopkins of FL; brother, Matthew Covil of FL; stepfather, Larry Fulk of Walnut Cove; stepmother, Anne Colett of FL; and 10 grandchildren.
