Marjorie Gallimore

July 17, 1924 — January 21, 2012

Mrs. Marjorie Crouse Gallimore, age 87 of Crousetown Road, Lexington, NC went peacefully to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 21 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM Tuesday, January 24 at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel conducted by Rev. Clarence Sifford and Rev. Chris Smith. Burial will follow at Mountain View Memorial Gardens. Mrs. Gallimore was born July 17, 1924 in Davidson County to Reid Ward Crouse and Vida Ann Peacock Crouse. She was a lifetime member of the Silver Valley Community Extension Association and of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church. Mrs. Gallimore was a devoted wife, mother, friend, and “MaMaw” She was noted for her cooking and baking. She enjoyed a card ministry in which she mailed cards on numerous occasions. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her brothers, Aaron Crouse and Ray Crouse and sisters, Kate Smith, Bessie Russell and Mary Kindley. Mrs. Gallimore is survived by her husband, Paul Gallimore,Sr of the home; sons Paul Gallimore Jr. and wife Lou of Salisbury, and Ken Gallimore and wife Shelbie of Lexington; a daughter, Janet Slack and husband John of Denton; 7 grandchildren: Chris Gallimore, Lisa Ingram, James Harkey, Jill Foster, Wendy Park, Leigh Gallimore and Julie Slack; and 10 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Monday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence.
