Marie Baum

Mrs. Marie Hunt Baum, age 88 of Canaan Church Road, Denton, NC died Friday, January 21 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A private graveside service will be held Tuesday, January 25 at Piney Grove United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Brad Treece. There will not be any family visitation. Mrs. Baum was born March 4, 1933 in Randolph County to Mood Hunt and Mattie Ridge Hunt. She was a member of Piney Grove United Methodist Church and had been employed with the Davidson County Board of Education and First Baptist Church of Denton Daycare. She was married to Garland Baum who preceded her in death in 2015. She was also preceded in death by her parents, by a son, Barry Baum and by a sister and four brothers. She is survived by sons, Michael Baum and wife Kathy of Denton and Kelly Baum of Lexington; a daughter in law, Joy Baum of Denton; grandchildren, Laura B Vazquez and husband Tony, Jessica Smith and husband Ken and Amanda Baum; great grandchildren, Lexi Payne and husband Quinton and Piper Vazquez; great great grandchild, Waylon Payne. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hinkle Hospice House, 200 Hospice Way, Lexington, NC 272292 or Piney Grove UMC Cemetery Fund c/o Crowson Hunt, 115 Pleasant Drive, Thomasville, NC 27360 Love offerings of food are unnecessary.
