Margaret Ann Young Thompson, 77, of Cranford Rd., Denton, NC passed away on Friday, September 06, 2024

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Sep. 11, at Community Baptist Church Cemetery officiated by Rev. Brian Workman. The family will receive from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the home of Joe Thompson, 60 N. Bingham St., Denton.

Margret was born on November 2, 1946, in Coeburn, VA, the daughter of Joseph Young and Lillian Culbertson Young. She was a member of Community Baptist Church and was a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband, John Howard Thompson, Sr.

She is survived by sons, John Thompson, Jr. (Angela), Joseph William Thompson (Heather), and Jeffery Allen Thompson (Amber) all of Denton; 15 grandchildren, Aaron Tyler Thompson, John Kodey Thompson, Dillon Thompson, Cameron Thompson, Courtney McAdams, Julie Thompson, Zoey Thompson, Michael Thompson, J.J. Blalock, Jeffery Thompson, Kara Thompson, Mason Byerly, Nathan Byerly, Payton Byerly, and Jeremy Byerly; 3 great-grandchildren, Corbin McAdams, Cadin McAdams, and Braylenn Marie Thompson; and expecting a great-greatgrandchild, baby girl McAdams; sister, Freida McCoy of Coeburn, VA; and brother, Ellis “Doc” Young of Coeburn, VA.
