Margaret Covington Lanning

Denton, NC Mrs. Margaret Covington Lanning, age 79, formerly of Denton, died Saturday, June 17, 2006 at the home of a son in Ocean Isle Beach, NC. Funeral Services will be Wednesday, June 21, 2006 at 2:00 PM at Clear Springs United Methodist Church. Revs. Sandy Young and Jack Stratas will officiate. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mrs. Lanning was born August 11, 1926 in Stanly County to Luther Clayton and Cora Hare Covington. She was retired from Bill's Hosiery Mill. She was a longtime member of Clear Springs United Methodist Church until moving to Ocean Isle and joining Village Point United Methodist Church in Shallotte. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Lanning in 1993. Mrs. Lanning is survived by 2 sons, Luther Lanning of Ocean Isle and Jerry Lanning of Denton; 3 brothers, Clegg Covington, Harold Covington and Ray Covington, all of Denton; 5 Grandchildred; 5 Great-grandchildren.
