Margaret Avaleen King

Margaret Avaleen Donathan Lane King, 86, of Carthage Rd., West End, died Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at her residence. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Friday at Middlecross Baptist Church where she was a member, with Rev. David Reynolds and Rev. John Chavis officiating. Burial will follow in the West End Cemetery. Mrs. King was born July 29, 1925, in Surry County, the daughter of Brady and Jennie Donathan Lane. She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her husband, Jacob King in 1992. She is survived by 2 Daughters, Jewell Vest and Brenda Hickman, both of West End; 4 sons, Larry C. and Linda King of West End, Granville and Janet King of Aberdeen, Randle and Margaret King of Pinehurst and Jimmy and Carolyn King of Carthage; 2 sisters, Betty Chance of Rockingham and Barbara Ann Walter of West End; a brother, Herbert Lane of Wilson; 15 Grandchildren; 33 Great-grandchildren; 10 Great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:30 to 8:30 PM Thursday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence on Carthage Rd., West End.
