Mrs. Maggie Hall Pierce, 84, of Salisbury Street, died Saturday, January 6, 2007, at Mountain Vista Health Park in Denton. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2007, at Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel by Dr. Vern Peterson. Interment will be in First Baptist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Pierce was born July 31, 1922, in Orange County to George Washington Hall and Eva Haith Hall. She retired from Surratt Hosiery Mill. She was a member of First Baptist Church where she served on the visitation committee. She, along with her husband Rev. C.W. Pierce, served the following Baptist churches, Willow Oak Baptist Church in Walnut Cove, Gravel Hill Baptist Church and Summerville Baptist Church, both in Denton, Russell's Grove Baptist Church in Asheboro, Turrentine Baptist Church in Mocksville, and Shady Grove Baptist Church in Staley. She was preceded in death by her husband the Rev. C.W. Pierce on December 3, 2001 after 61 years of marriage, and by brothers, Javey and Ralph Hall, and sisters, Joy Mansfield and Frances Stroud. She is survived by her son Wayne Pierce and wife Sharon of Wilson; daughter Faye Pierce Loflin and husband Robert Leon of Winston-Salem; brother LeRoy Hall of Milton, Fla., sisters, Dottie Ward of Holden Beach and Anne Moore of Graham; three grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. The family will see friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service and other times at the residence. Memorials may be made to Mountain Vista Health Park, 106 Mt.
