Mae Hughes

Miss Maggie Mae Hughes, age 85 of 400 Vision Drive, Asheboro and formerly of Pine Hill Community, New London, NC died Friday, May 31 at Woodland Hill Center in Asheboro. A graveside service will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, June 2 at Pine Hill United Methodist Church Cemetery conducted by Rev. Edward Carter. The family will see friends from 1:30 to 2:30 PM Sunday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton. Mrs. Hughes was born November 21, 1927 in Davidson County to John Hughes and Elizabeth Loflin Hughes.She was a homemaker and was preceded in death by her parents, by brothers, Robert Lee Hughes, Wade Hughes and Albert Hughes and by sisters, Lula Swaney and Beulah Hughes. She is survived by a sister Effie Gearren of New London and by a number of Nieces and Nephews.
