Mrs. Madge Simmons Britt, age 80 of Kingswood Nursing Home, Aberdeen and formerly of Pack House Road, Candor, NC, died Sunday, Dec. 24 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst A funeral service will be held Wednesday, Dec. 27 at 11:00 AM at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Jack Phillips, with burial to follow at Candor Town Cemetery Mrs. Britt was born March 18, 1926 in Montgomery County to Joseph B. Simmons and Minnie Comer Simmons. She was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church and a retired employee of Russ-Knits. She is survived by her son, Thomas Russell Britt of West End and sisters Helen Hall of Charlotte, Alice Smith of Southern Pines and Patsy Williams of Candor. 3 grandchildren also survive The family will see friends from 6:00 to 7:30 PM Tuesday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor.
