Mr. Walter Alexander (Mack) McKenzie, age 69 of Martin Road, Jackson Springs, NC died Friday, January 7 at his residence. A funeral service will be held at 4:00 PM Sunday, January 9, at Macedonia Presbyterian Church conducted by Rev. Matthew Baker. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Mr. McKenzie was born July 18, 1941, in Moore County to Walter Lilly McKenzie and Ruby McCaskill McKenzie. He was a member of Macedonia Presbyterian Church, a veteran of the U S Army, a member of the Eagle Springs Volunteer Fire Department for 30 years, a member of Biscoe VFW Post 9881, a member of the Alberta Lodge # 654. Mack worked as a building contractor. He is survived by his wife, Shirley Freeman McKenzie of the home; a daughter Cathy Lynn (Peaches) McKenzie of the home; and brothers, Roger McKenzie and Bill McKenzie both of Jackson Springs. The family will see friends from 1:30 to 4:00 PM Sunday at Macedonia Presbyterian Church. Memorials may be made to Macedonia Presbyterian Church Kitchen Fund, PO Box 340, Candor, NC 27229. Briggs-Candor Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
