Macie Cook

Mrs. Macie B. Cook, age 85 of Denton, NC died Thursday, April 16 at Hinkle Hospice House in Lexington. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 19 at Allegheny United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Steve McLain. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. Mrs. Cook was born August 20, 1923 in Montgomery County to John Bailey and Essie Brewer Bailey of Troy, NC. She was a retired employee of Surratt Hosiery Mill. She was married to Glenn Cook who died October 29, 2004. She was also preceded in death by her parents, and a sister Ruby Hilliard and husband Paul. Mrs. Cook is survived by a son, Doug Cook and wife Judy of Denton,; a granddaughter Christy Hardee and husband Brad of Badin Lake; Foster Sisters, Janie Milan and husband Bert of Lexington and Ethel Saunders of Asheboro; a niece, Shirley Morton and husband Jim and their children LeAnn and James. The family will see friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Saturday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton and other times at the residence of the son on NC Hwy # 109 South, Denton.
