MacDuffie “Mac” Clark, Jr., 84, of South Main Street, Candor, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at his residence. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday, September 3, 2016 at Briggs Candor Funeral Home conducted by Rev. Dr. David Speering, Rev. Dena White, and Mr. Rodemiro Lazaro. Interment will follow in Candor Cemetery. Mr. Clark was born May 25, 1932 in Charleston, WVA. to MacDuffie Clark, Sr. and Lucille Ewing Clark. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Mac was a graduate of North Carolina State University and a member of Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Mr. Clark was a member of Candor Presbyterian Church, served on Candor Town Council, Montgomery County Planning Board, Candor Lions Club, Kiwanis Club in Scotland Neck, and Treasurer of North Carolina Peach Growers Association. He worked as a Real Estate Appraiser. Surviving is wife, Linda Futrell Clark of the home; son, David Clark of Candor; daughters, Patricia Clark Kelley (Dean) of Wake Forest, Melinda Clark of Raleigh, and Celia Clark (Adam Oakeley) of Durham; grandchildren, Charlotte Held, Travis Clark (Stephanie), Allen Clark, Lauren Clark-Johnson, Elise Clark Johnson, Amelia Oakeley, Gordon Kelley, and Natalie Kelley Hall (Dan). The family will receive friends on Friday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Candor Funeral Home and other times at the residence.
