Mable Ann Steele Luther

Mable Ann Steele Luther, aged 87, of Eagle Springs, passed away peacefully at her residence on Thursday, August 21, 2025. Born on September 10, 1937, in Richmond County, she was the cherished daughter of James Lloyd Steele and Ida Greene Steele Barbour. Mable had attended Eagle Springs Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Wallace Luther, her daughter Wanda Pierce, her brother James Malloy Steele, and her sister Maxine Caldwell. Mable leaves behind a loving family, including her son Raymond N. Freeman, Jr and his wife Vickie of Eagle Springs, her daughter Sharon Ann Nichols of Eagle Springs, as well as 9 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren who will all miss her dearly.

A funeral service to honor Mable's life will be held at 2:00 PM on Monday, August 25, 2025, at the Briggs-Candor Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Rev. Matt Brogli. Following the service, she will be laid to rest at the Eagle Springs Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1-2 PM prior to the service on Monday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home.
