Luther Pierce

Mr. Luther Eugene Pierce, 88, of Daniel Pierce Dr. in Denton passed away on Tuesday, January 25, 2022 at his residence.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM on Thursday, Jan. 27 at Summerville Baptist Church Cemetery conducted Rev. Jeremy Pierce.

Mr. Pierce was born in Randolph County on October 8, 1933 to Lewis Pierce and Rosa Mae Trotter Pierce.  He was a furniture carver and had also worked in the hosiery industry. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jean Daniel Pierce; brothers, David, Thomas, and Rufus Pierce; sister, Louella Newsome; and a granddaughter, Annette Walker.

He is survived by son, Ricky Pierce of Asheboro; daughter, Barbara Hunt of Denton; sister, Marsha Surratt of Denton; 5 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
