Lucy Shuler Hughes

Mrs. Lucy Shuler Hughes, age 78, of Denton died Tuesday, January 20 at Lexington Memorial Hospital. Funeral service will be 2:00 pm Friday, January 23 at Summerville Baptist Church with Rev. Claudie Harrison officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Lexington. Mrs. Hughes was born August 24, 1930 in Jackson County to Frank and Della Hoyle Shuler. She was a member of Summerville Baptist Church and had worked at Adams Millis. Mrs. Hughes is survived by her husband, Guy Hughes of Denton, a son, Harold Pridgen of Denton, brother, Arthur Shuler of California and sister, Dorothy Bridges of Sylva The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 pm Thursday at Briggs Funeral Home in Denton In lieu of flowers memorials may be sent to Alzheimer’s Association, 3800 Shamrock Drive, Charlotte, NC 28215-3220
