Loveday Anita Jane Hicks Thompson, 88, of Lassiter Loop Rd., Troy, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Stanly Regional Medical Center in Albemarle. Funeral Service will by 2:00 PM Monday, April 13, 2015 at Love Joy United Methodist Church, with Rev. Daniel Rushing officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Born in Penzance,Cornwall, England on May 18, 1926, she was the daughter of Thomas Rowland and Anita Prowse Hicks. She was a textile worker, a member of the Church of God, and preceded in death by her husband, Guy Thompson in 1990. She is survived by 3 daughters, Christine Blue, Ann Nordan and Loretta Rushing, all of Troy; 9 grandchildren; 29 Great-grandchildren; 28 Great-great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 PM prior to the service on Monday at Love Joy UMC. Briggs Funeral Home of Troy is in charge of arrangements.
