Lorraine Gilmore

Lorraine Maness Parsons Gilmore, 91, died Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at Autumn Care of Biscoe. Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Saturday at Candor Baptist Church, where she was a member, with Rev. Jack Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in the Candor Cemetery. She was born December 10, 1918, in Montgomery County, the daughter of Bailey and Lena Suggs Maness. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Earl R. Parsons and Rev. Max A. Gilmore. She is survived by a son, Earl Richard Parsons, Jr. of Candor; a daughter, Julia Parsons Lakin and husband Gary of Virginia Beach, VA; a step-son, Steven Gilmore and wife Cheryl of Cameron, NC; 2 sisters, Greta Maness Harris of Southern Pines and Betty Maness Smith of Biscoe; 5 Grandchildren, Lisa Parsons Dunn of Asheboro, Earl Richard (Rick) Parsons III and Rene Parsons Geshel, both of Candor, Kimberly Lakin Catt of Virginia Beach, VA and Debora Lakin Ragland of Williamsburg, VA; 6 Great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Friday at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home in Candor and other times at the residence of her son, Richard Parsons.
