Lois Goins Powell

Ms. Lois Goins Powell, 74, of NC HWY 109 South, Mt. Gilead passed away on Sunday, November 10, 2019 at her residence.  A memorial service will be held at a later date.  Ms. Powell was born April 15, 1945 in Moore County to Sanford Goins and Ethel Wood Goins. She was of the Holiness Faith. Lois enjoyed listening to Gospel Music, sewing, cooking, and working with flowers. She had worked in nursing homes as a caregiver. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George Powell in 2008; step-son, Thomas Needham, and by a brother Stanton Goins.  She is survived by son, Greg Needham and wife Beverly Freeman of Asheboro; daughter, Faye Hulsey of Mt. Gilead; step-son, Bradford Needham of Asheboro; step-daughter, Peggy Duncan of Troy; sisters, Sandra Goins Alcaraz of Robbins and Carolyn Overton of Troy; brothers, Larry Goins of Candor, Bruce Goins of Star, and Terry Goins of Star,  8 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.  Briggs Candor Funeral Home is serving the Powell Family.
