Linda Futrell Clark

Linda Futrell Clark, 83, of South Main St., Candor, died Sunday, February 3, 2019 at her residence.  Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, February 7, 2019 at Candor Presbyterian Church, with burial to follow in the Candor Cemetery.   Mrs. Clark was born Mary Linda Futrell on September 4, 1935 to Mary Cleo and Clarence Waylon “Mike” Futrell in Hertford County, N.C. Linda attended Hardbarger Business College. Linda was married to MacDuffie Clark, Jr. for 62 years until his death in 2016. She was a member of the Fine Arts Club, Round Dozen Book Club, Women of the Church, an Elder of Candor Presbyterian Church, taught Sunday School, was a member of the choir and provided over 28 years of continuous care to elderly family members. She worked at Samarkand Manor in the late 1960s and then for 25 years at the Bank of Candor and First Bank. Linda loved her adopted hometown of Candor and the many friends she found there.   Linda was predeceased by her husband MacDuffie and their infant son; surviving; daughters, Patricia Clark Kelley of Candor; Melinda Clark of Raleigh, and Celia Clark Oakeley (Adam) of Durham,; son David Clark of Candor; grandchildren, Charlotte Held Johnson (Edward);Travis Clark(Stephanie); Allen Clark, Lauren Clark-Johnson; Elise Clark-Johnson, Amelia Oakeley; Natalie Hall (Dan); Gordon Kelley; great grandchildren; Everleigh Clark and Mac Johnson.   The family will receive friends on Wednesday from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Briggs Candor Funeral Home.
