Leslie Thomas Perry

Leslie Thomas Perry, 70, of Candor, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst .

Mr. Perry was born October 25, 1950 in Montgomery County, NC, a son of the late Ben Leslie and Hazel Coleen Thomas Perry. He had served his country in the US Army and was a member of Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church, where he was assistant treasurer, a deacon and a Sunday school teacher. He had worked with Sunbeam Bread Company for several years and retired from Merita Bread Company after 23 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Vivian Haywood Perry; children, Carol Anne Perry Baker (Frank),Leslie Thomas Perry, II (Melisa), and Robin Perry Smith (Anthony); grandchildren, Brandon Baker, McKinley Baker, Morgan Smith, and Nicholas Smith; brothers, Wendell Earl Perry (Patricia), Kevin Sinclair Perry (Wanda) and sister, Karen Perry Hight (Peter).

Graveside services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday at Blackwood Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Billy Glover officiating. Face coverings will be required and please keep social distancing in mind.

Mr. Perry will lie in state at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home from 9:00 – 11:00 am Tuesday, January 19, 2021. The family will not be present at this time.
