Leona Kellis

Mrs. Leona Williams Kellis, age 82 of East Blake Street, Candor, NC died Monday, August 17, 2015 at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Wednesday, August 19 at West End Cemetery in West End, NC with Rev. Steve Jarman officiating. The family will see friends at Briggs-Candor Funeral Home from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday and other times will be at the residence on East Blake Street. Mrs. Kellis was born August 17, 1933 in Richmond County to Carson Williams and Evie Long Williams. She was a homemaker and had worked at the Sandhills Café. She was married to Glenn Kellis who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a son, Eddie Kellis and a daughter Lynn Kellis Thompson. She is survived by daughter, Janet Barnes and husband Jamey of Candor and Amy Bruewer and husband Tom of Cincinnati, Ohio; sisters Mary Jane Johnson and Isabell Reynolds both of Rockingham; grandchildren, Chris Reynolds, Jonathan Thompson, Leslie Reynolds, Jordan Thompaon, Claire Speirs, David Bruewer, Britney Pitti and Brandon Kellis; 4 great grandchildren.
